Corporate Tax Manager

Our client is a leading global accountancy firm, highly regarded for its expertise in audit, tax, advisory, and consulting services. The firm offers a dynamic and supportive environment for their employees to grow and thrive. They are now seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their growing tax team, providing an excellent opportunity for a tax professional to step into a leadership role and contribute to the success of a diverse client base.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Corporate Tax Advisory: The Corporate Tax Manager will provide high-level tax advice to a range of corporate clients, from large multinational corporations to SMEs. Key advisory areas include corporate tax planning, tax-efficient structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and international tax.
  • Client Relationship Management: The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and fostering long-term relationships. They will act as a trusted advisor, providing proactive advice on tax planning and compliance issues.
  • Team Leadership and Development: The Corporate Tax Manager will manage and mentor a team of junior tax professionals, providing coaching and development opportunities. They will oversee the delivery of corporate tax services, ensuring that junior team members are supported and have the opportunity to develop their skills.
  • Tax Compliance Oversight: The role involves managing the compliance process for a portfolio of clients, including overseeing the preparation and review of corporate tax returns. The Corporate Tax Manager will ensure that all returns are accurate, filed on time, and compliant with UK tax legislation.
  • Project Management: The Corporate Tax Manager will take the lead on large, complex tax projects, such as corporate restructuring, acquisitions, and disposals. They will manage internal teams, coordinate with other departments, and ensure that client objectives are met efficiently.
  • Business Development: The Corporate Tax Manager will contribute to the firm’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client pitches. They will also be responsible for cross-selling other services within the firm.
  • Tax Risk Management: The role includes identifying and managing tax risks, ensuring that clients’ tax strategies comply with current regulations and are aligned with the firm’s risk management framework.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) or possess significant relevant experience in corporate tax advisory.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in corporate tax, ideally within a professional services firm.
  • Strong technical expertise in corporate tax, including experience in tax planning, structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and international tax.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business development experience with a track record of identifying opportunities and winning new clients.
  • High level of attention to detail, with the ability to analyse complex tax issues and provide practical solutions.
